Are you part of a faith-based organization? One of our biggest resources in the harsh Michigan winters is our Rotating Shelter! Rotating Shelter is a great way to open your faith-based home to those experiencing homelessness in Washtenaw County.

Help our neighbors get a fresh start with the things they need in a new apartment! Keep in mind that most clients only have some clothing and few personal belongings. See what is included in a move-out basket here. To coordinate a move-out basket making event, please contact Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Samantha Adams at

734-662-2829 ext. 226 or at

Show our staff that they're appreciated by printing out one of our support signs and hanging it on your fridge, in your window, or posting it on your social media pages.

One of the best ways to get involved with the SAWC is to attend events like Almost Home or Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. If your corporation or school would like to host an event on behalf of the shelter, third-party events are always a good option.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do and are essential to the SAWC's mission. Volunteers play a crucial role in our operations and participate in many aspects of our programs. There are many positions available to fit your busy schedule!

We are partnered with United Way  For questions regarding United Way designations, please contact Sarah Paspal-Jasinski at 734-662-2829 ext. 224 or
