Guest Codes of Conduct

At The Shelter, we strive to provide a safe and respectful environment for all of our guests. To help us achieve this goal, we ask that everyone who stays with us adhere to our Guest Code of Conduct. These guidelines have been put in place to ensure the comfort and well-being of all individuals at our facility. Thank you for your cooperation in making The Shelter a welcoming and supportive place for everyone.

Respect

  • Many people are in Recovery. Do not use or possess drugs or alcohol on the premises.  This includes medical marijuana users.

  • If you are under the influence you may be asked to leave.

  • Please be appropriately clothed at all times.

  • Please wear headphones, if others can hear it then it is too loud.

  • Please no personal alarms except ones that only vibrate.

  • Quiet time is between 10pm and 6am. Respect your roommate’s right to sleep and relax in peace.  Please do not access lockers or turn on lights during Quiet time.

  • Please do not leave your belongings unattended on the premises. They may be lost or misplaced.

  • Please do not loiter in the Service Center lobby, the first floor lobby, outside the building or at the bus stop.

  • Please no profanity, racial slurs, or unwelcome comments about gender or sexual orientation.

  • Please maintain good hygiene.

  • Respect the privacy of others, please no media recordings of any sort.

  • You are expected to clean up after yourself at all times, in all areas of the Delonis Center.

  • Please do not bathe in the first and second floor restrooms. Please sign up for a shower at allotted times.

  • Please no public displays of affections.

Safety

  • Weapons of any sort are not permitted on the premises.

  • Everyone must check in at the front desk before proceeding to the upper floors.

  • To prevent bugs please no food or beverages in the rooms

  • Rooms, lockers and bed areas may be inspected at any time.

  • Please do not share your locker or storage contract space with others.

  • If you believe that you may have recently been in contact with bedbugs, please inform staff. YOU WILL STILL GET YOUR BED. Staff will assist you in a protocol that will make certain you no longer have contact with these pests. This keeps the shelter pest free.

  • No illegal activities: This includes but is not limited to: solicitation;  loan sharking ; gambling ; panhandling; pornography; stealing; vandalism; and selling, buying, or possession of alcohol or other drugs.

  • No violence, threatening behavior, bullying, or aggressive displays.
